Definition
One of the four mathematical processes: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. With integers, all four follow the sign rules.
Examples
- (−4) + (−3) = −7 (same signs add); (−5) − (−2) = (−5) + 2 = −3.
- (−4) × (−3) = +12; −12 ÷ 3 = −4.
