- Lesson 2 Distance on the Number Line I can find the distance between two rational numbers on a number line as |a − b|, in either order, with fractions, mixed numbers and decimals, and tell when the sizes add or subtract.
- Lesson 3 Multiplying & Dividing Rationals I can multiply and divide positive and negative fractions, mixed numbers and decimals: find the sign with the integer rules, then multiply, or multiply by the reciprocal to divide.
- Lesson 4 Terminating vs Repeating Decimals I can change a fraction to a decimal with long division, tell whether it terminates or repeats, and write a repeating decimal in bar notation.
- Lesson 5 Properties of Operations with Rationals I can move and regroup sums and products of fractions, decimals and negative numbers with the commutative, associative and distributive properties, after writing each subtraction as adding the opposite.
- Lesson 6 Order of Operations with Rationals I can find the value of multi-step expressions with negative fractions and decimals: grouping first, then × and ÷, then + and −, deciding the sign of every step before its size.
- Lesson 7 Real-World Rational Number Problems I can solve real-world problems with positive and negative rational numbers: choose the operation from the story, work it with the sign rules, and explain what the sign of the answer means.
