- Lesson 1 Percent Proportions I can write a percent proportion, part/whole = percent/100, with the part on top and the whole below it, and solve it to find the part, the whole or the percent, including percents over 100% and percents that are not friendly.
- Lesson 2 Percent Increase and Decrease I can find a percent increase or decrease: subtract to find the amount of change, divide it by the original value (the value before the change), write the result as a percent and name it an increase or a decrease.
- Lesson 3 Discounts and Markups I can find a sale price after a discount and a retail price after a markup by multiplying, and handle two-step deals: the second percent is taken from the new price, so the multipliers multiply and the percents do not add.
- Lesson 4 Tax, Tips and Commission I can add sales tax, a tip or a fee by multiplying the base amount by 100% plus the rate, find a commission as a percent of the sales, and go back from a total to the price before tax by dividing.
- Lesson 5 Simple Interest I can use I = Prt to find the simple interest on savings or a loan, the total amount, the rate or the time, with the rate as a decimal and the time in years.
- Lesson 6 Percent Error I can find a percent error: find how far the estimate is from the actual value, divide that by the actual value, and write it as a percent, never negative; compare estimates by their percent errors.
- Lesson 7 Percent Problems I can solve multistep percent problems: tax, tips, markups and discounts, percent increase and decrease, percent error, commission and simple interest.
