Decimal Operations, GCF & LCM
8 lessons, about 17 days with the quiz, review and test, in one download: Multi-Digit Operations, Adding & Subtracting Decimals, Multiplying Decimals, Dividing Decimals, Prime Factorization, Greatest Common Factor, Least Common Multiple, GCF & LCM Word Problems.
8 lessons, in teaching order
Built to 6.NS.B.2, 6.NS.B.3, 6.NS.B.4. Each lesson has guided notes, practice, an exit ticket, a homework page, worked answer keys and a click-by-click Teacher Deck.
- Lesson 1 Multi-Digit Operations I can divide multi-digit whole numbers fluently, and add, subtract, multiply and divide multi-digit decimals with the decimal point in the right place.
- Lesson 2 Adding & Subtracting Decimals I can add and subtract multi-digit decimals by lining up the decimal points, annexing zeros, regrouping and checking with an estimate.
- Lesson 3 Multiplying Decimals I can multiply multi-digit decimals by multiplying as whole numbers, counting the decimal places in both factors and checking the point with an estimate.
- Lesson 4 Dividing Decimals I can divide decimals by whole numbers and by decimals by moving the point in the divisor and the dividend the same number of places, and check the quotient by multiplying back.
- Lesson 5 Prime Factorization I can tell prime from composite numbers, use a factor tree to write the prime factorization of a number in exponent form, and use prime factorizations to find a GCF or LCM.
- Lesson 6 Greatest Common Factor I can find the greatest common factor (GCF) of two whole numbers and use it to split things into equal groups.
- Lesson 7 Least Common Multiple I can find the least common multiple (LCM) of two whole numbers up to 12 and use it to solve problems about repeating events.
- Lesson 8 GCF & LCM Word Problems I can decide whether a word problem needs the greatest common factor or the least common multiple, solve it, and use the GCF to rewrite a sum such as 36 + 8 as 4(9 + 2).
