Definition
A number that divides evenly into another number. In multiplication, the numbers being multiplied are the factors, and the result is the product.
Examples
- In 6 × 4 = 24, the factors are 6 and 4.
- Factor pairs of 24: 1×24, 2×12, 3×8, 4×6.

A factor divides into a number evenly with no remainder.
