Definition
A number that gives the position of a point along an axis of the coordinate plane.
Examples
- In (3, 2), 3 and 2 are the coordinates of the point.
- Together, two coordinates form an ordered pair.
Key rule
Each coordinate is one number in the pair that locates a point.
