Volume
7.G.B.6
Definition
The measure of space inside a 3D solid. For a rectangular prism: V = l × w × h = B × h. Measured in cubic units (cm³, m³, in³, ft³).
Examples
- V = 5 × 4 × 3 = 60 m³.
- Count unit cubes: 5 × 4 × 3 = 60 cubes, each 1 m³.
Key rule
Volume is 3D and cubic; surface area is 2D and square — like the difference between wrapping paper and what fits inside.
Memory hook
How much space is packed inside.
