Definition
A three-dimensional solid with two identical, parallel polygonal bases connected by rectangular lateral faces. Named by the shape of the base.
Examples
- A rectangular prism has 2 bases + 4 lateral faces = 6 faces total.
- A triangular prism has triangular bases; a hexagonal prism has hexagonal bases.
