Power of a Power

Definition

When raising a power to another power, keep the base and multiply the exponents. The quantity x to the a, raised to the b, equals x to the a times b.

Examples

  • (x³)⁴ = x^(3×4) = x¹².
  • Add exponents for the product rule, but multiply for power of a power.
