Definition

The least common denominator, the smallest multiple shared by all denominators. Multiplying every term of an equation by the LCD clears the fractions.

Examples

  • Denominators 2, 3, 6 have LCD = 6.
  • Multiply every term by the LCD, including whole numbers.
