Definition
A comparison of two values showing one is greater than or less than the other, using < or >.
Examples
- -3 < 2 and 5 > -1 are both inequalities.
- On a number line, smaller numbers are to the left.
Key rule
An open circle at the boundary points toward the larger number.
Memory hook
Not equal — one side is bigger.
