Domain
Algebra 1 · Functions & Sequences
Definition
The domain is the set of all input values (x-values) for which a function is defined.
Examples
- For {(1,2),(3,4)}, the domain is {1, 3}.
- For y = x + 5, the domain is all real numbers.
Key rule
List the x-values; the domain is all allowed inputs.
Memory hook
Domain = the inputs, the x-values you feed in.
