Composition of Transformations
HSG-CO.A.5
Definition
Performing two or more transformations in order, one after the other.
Examples
- Reflecting a figure, then translating the result, is a composition of transformations.
- A -> A' -> A'' shows two transformations applied in sequence.
Key rule
The order of transformations in a composition matters — doing them in a different order can give a different result.
Memory hook
One transformation, then another, in order.
