Definition
The two directions of rotation. Counterclockwise is taken as the positive direction, opposite to the motion of clock hands.
Examples
- Unless told otherwise, rotations are counterclockwise (CCW).
- A 90° CW turn equals a 270° CCW turn.
Key rule
Counterclockwise is positive; clockwise is negative.
