Definition

A side that runs up and down; its length is the difference of the y-coordinates.

Examples

  • Left side from (1,1) to (1,3): length = |3-1| = 2.
  • Subtract the y-coordinates of the endpoints.

Find a vertical side's length by subtracting y-coordinates.
