Definition
The entire group of individuals or objects that a statistical study is interested in. Studying all members of a population is a census, which is often impractical.
Examples
- All 600 students at a middle school.
- All registered voters in an election poll.

The population is defined by the research question — know what 'everyone' means for your study.
