Definition
The total distance around the outside of a two-dimensional figure.
Examples
- A rectangle with sides 8, 5, 8, 5 has a perimeter of 8+5+8+5 = 26 units.
- A square with side 6 has a perimeter of 24 units.
Key rule
Perimeter is found by adding all the side lengths.
