Minor and Major Arc

Definition
The minor arc is the shorter arc (under 180 degrees), the major arc the longer (over 180 degrees).
Examples
- A minor arc measures less than 180 degrees, such as 80 degrees.
- A major arc measures more than 180 degrees, such as 280 degrees.
Key rule
Together, a minor and major arc from the same two points always add up to 360 degrees.
