Definition

The angle measured upward from a horizontal line to an object above.

Examples

  • The angle of elevation to the top of a building is measured from eye level looking up.
  • A kite string making a 35 degree angle above the horizontal has a 35 degree angle of elevation.

Angle of elevation is always measured from the horizontal, looking up.
